UPDATE: This post is updated to reflect schedule changes due to cold and rain forecasts for the evening.

One Monday (Feb. 16), just one day shy of Mardi Gras 2015, two parades -- Proteus and Orpheus -- make night-time runs through the Uptown route in New Orleans. Home making your costume? Don't miss them, just tune into NOLA.com's Parade Cam.

The Krewe of Proteus is set to take off at 4 p.m. (instead of its previously scheduled 5:15 p.m. start, due to weather concerns), from the corner of Napoleon Avenue at Magazine Street. The 20-float parade portrays "Nature of the Beasts." The identity of the oldest night parade's monarch always remains secret. Flambeaux help light the parade. Throws include doubloons, and plush tridents and seahorses.

The super-Krewe of Orpheus follows at 4:45 p.m. (moved up from 6 p.m.), starting at Napoleon Avenue at Tchoupitoulas Street. This 36-float parade depicts "The Magic of an Ordinary Day." Signature floats include the Trojan Horse, Smokey Mary and the Leviathan. Highlights of 2015 include celebrity riders such as country star Dierks Bentley and Casey James (of "American Idol") and several cast members from "NCIS: New Orleans," as well as flambeaux. Throws include doubloons, fedoras and face masks.
