Mardi Gras fans and pet lovers will be able to enjoy one final parade of the season Sunday (Feb. 14) when the Mystic Krewe of Mardi Paws hits the streets of Mandeville on Valentine's Day. The procession starts at 2 p.m.
This krewe is a dog parade that requires all canines to wear costumes to participate. This year's theme is "Love is in the HAIR!" and krewe members will showcase famous romances in history, including TV and sports.
"Vampire Diaries" actor Ian Somerhalder and his wife, actress Nikki Reed, will lead this year's krewe alongside the several canine royals.
The parade rolls from Jackson Avenue by the harbor westward. The krewe will parade on Lakeshore Drive and then go off the street onto the bike path near Girod Street. From there, the parade continues on the bike path until it finishes past the Reviewing stand at the Gazebo at Lafitte Street and Lakeshore Drive.
