Two Mardi Gras parades roll Tuesday in Covington

Mardi Gras season fans in Covington will be able to enjoy two parades on Fat Tuesday (Feb. 9). The Covington Lions Club procession starts at 10 a.m., followed by the Mystic Krewe of Covington.

Covington Lions was founded in 1959, the Krewe of Covington in 1952. They are often considered great parades for those who do not want to stress over parking and want to enjoy Carnival with their young children.

  • Did you see the parade? Share your photos and observations with other readers in the comment stream, below.
  • Want to keep the party going? There are lots of parades to come, and we have compiled an easy-to-use guide to each one.
  • Of course, parades aren't much fun if you are hungry or thirsty. To fix that problem, see the online restaurant guide and bar guide compiled by our staff critics. There's even a Mardi Gras healthy eating guide for those of you getting into the healthy-in-2016 groove.
