Argus, Zulu Mardi Gras royalty to meet Lundi Gras in Kenner

With Mardi Gras only a day away, the royal courts of Argus 2016 and Zulu 2016 will kick off Lundi Gras festivities Monday (Feb. 8) in Kenner's Rivertown. The 18th meeting of the two krewe courts will be celebrated with a toast and parade down Williams Boulevard around noon.

The free event, at 415 Williams., lasts from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It includes live music, games, local food vendors and craft booths.

Acting Mayor Mike Sigur and the City Council will be on hand to toast and welcome the royal courts of the Krewe of Argus and the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club. King Zulu 2016 is Jay Banks, and his queen is his wife, Artelia Bennett Banks. King Argus XXXII is Michael Hollis, and his queen is Brooke Kelly.
