North Shore folks are passionate about their king cakes. This year, we ran polls asking for best king cakes by geographic area. What we were hoping to do is find lesser-known bakeries and dig a little deeper into communities and what those who live and work there like best.

Nearly 1,000 readers voted in our North Shore king cake poll. This was by far the strongest turn out among the three, which also included a poll for Orleans Parish and one for East Jefferson. Read about Orleans Parish winners here and East Jefferson here. (Unfortunately, we did not receive enough nominations for the West Bank or outlying parishes to warrant a poll. See the nominees here and here, respectively.)

The top five North Shore king cake winners are listed, starting with the cake that received the most votes in our poll.
