Float-staging for Muses, which rolls Thursday (Feb. 23, 2017) at 6:30 p.m. Uptown, is scheduled for 2:30 to 5 p.m. on the following streets: John Churchill Chase, Andrew Higgins, North Diamond and South Diamond, all streets between South Peters and Convention Center Boulevard and Convention Center Boulevard eastbound side from Calliope to Andrew Higgins, according to the NOPD.

Motorists should expect "minor" traffic delays Thursday afternoon (Feb. 23) in parts of the CBD used to line up floats for Thursday night's Krewe of Muses parade, New Orleans police said.

Float-staging for Muses, which rolls at 6:30 p.m. Uptown, is scheduled for 2:30 to 5 p.m. on the following streets:

*        John Churchill Chase

*        Andrew Higgins

*        North Diamond and South Diamond

*        All streets between South Peters and Convention Center Boulevard

*        Convention Center Boulevard eastbound side from Calliope to Andrew Higgins

The NOPD, which is facilitating Muses' float-staging, asks for patience from motorists as the popular krewe prepares to ride with four brand-new floats and plenty of throws.

The new floats, to be unveiled during Thursday's parade, include a mama duck float and three ducky floats that will trail the krewe's bathtub float.

The weather should be pleasant for catching the parade--and the krewe's coveted hand-decorated shoes. The National Weather Service forecast calls for a dry, partly cloudy night with a low around 60.
