The Krewe of Isis rolled down Veterans Memorial Boulevard on Saturday night (Feb. 25).

Established in 1972, the all-female krewe is named after the Egyptian goddess of fertility and calls itself the "largest and oldest all female Mardi Gras organization in Jefferson Parish."

And no, they don't plan on changing their name, which predates the rise of the similarly-known Islamic State, the extremist Sunni group.

"To change our name would be disrespectful of our troops and perceived as giving up and giving in and that is not how WE roll," says the krewe's official website.
