Krewe Delusion paraded through New Orleans' Faubourg Marigny, French Quarter and Central Business District on Saturday (Feb. 11). The group, which first surfaced in 2010, has as its motto: "The People Shall Rule - Until a Suitable Replacement Can Be Found."
In the krewe's debut year, The Times-Picayune described it as a combination of Mardi Gras, dictatorship, satire, post-Katrina transplants and Harry Shearer. But in advance of this year's parade, the krewe announced it would break with custom and not appoint a "benevolent ruler" for 2017.
Why? "Because of the "the international catastrophe brought on by the results of the 2016 election and the appointment of a league of kleptocrats to steer the mechanics of the United States government."
