Vote here: Who makes the best king cake in your neighborhood?

We all know that there are great king cakes scattered throughout the greater New Orleans area: in Orleans Parish, throughout East Jefferson and the West Bank, St. Tammany and stretching out to Plaquemines Parish, St. Bernard and River parishes.

One of the things that determines which king cakes we buy is location. We want a delicious cake, near home, family/friends or work. Convenience and community loyalty do fit into the equation.

So, we are asking folks to tell us the best king cakes by specific community. We're a big metro area, so we had to divided this by-location query into pretty large geographic swaths.

Tell us about a favorite baker in your town and what makes his or her king cakes so great. Or, perhaps, there is a cake that you are willing to cross a river or lake to get. Maybe there is one that you'll brave interstate traffic or bumpy country roads to sample.

Tell us about it, by reading one of the links below and nominating that baker there. We'll gather the nominees -- by location -- into polls for voting.

Remember, you can also nominate your favorite king cake maker on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, but you must use the hashtag #nolabestof so we can find the nomination. Your post must be set to "public'' in order for us to take your nomination.

We'll gather your comments into a poll, and voting will begin on Monday (Feb. 6).

So tell us: Who makes the best king cake in your part of town?
