See New Orleans cop show off Mardi Gras dance moves

A dancing cop on the Mardi Gras parade route

Every year at Mardi Gras, we're reminded how good the NOPD is at managing huge crowds. And we also get to see that more than a few New Orleans cops have serious dance moves.

In the video above, an NOPD officer, identified by a reader as the one-and-only "Disco Cop" L.J. Smith, can't help but dance when the band passes by.

Want to dance like Smith? He gave our reporter Doug MacCash a dance lessons:

In 2015, the famous "wobble cop" showed that he could also dance the "Cupid Shuffle."

And in 2016, two cops danced with a crowd during the Orpheus parade.
