Residents in New Orleans Friday and Saturday (Feb. 25) should expect several street closures as authorities oversee the transportation of some of the largest floats in Mardi Gras season for Saturday's Krewe of Endymion parade.

All northbound lanes of Marconi Drive between City Park Avenue and Florida Boulevard will close Feb. 24 at 8 a.m. as Endymion floats are moved to the krewe's formation area on Marconi. Authorities on Tuesday said the closures are expected to last until the last float has left the formation area on Feb. 25 at approximately 9 p.m.

The southbound lanes of Marconi Drive will remain open, and City Park will be accessible from City Park Avenue and Anseman Avenue. City Park will also be accessible from North Carrollton Avenue and Lelong Drive, Wisner Boulevard and Friedrichs Avenue, and Zachary Taylor Drive and Henry Thomas Drive.

Delgado Community College at City Park Campus, NOLA City Bark, the Pepsi Tennis Center, Pan American Stadium, and the Matt Savoie Soccer Complex on Marconi Drive will also be accessible Feb. 24.

Street closures will also occur for the actual parade Feb. 25 at 9 a.m. until the last float leaves the formation area at approximately 9 p.m. Navarre Avenue will close at Canal Bouelvard, General Diaz Street, Orleans Avenue and Marconi Drive.

Orleans Avenue will also close at Florida Boulevard, Coscino Place, Central Park Place and South Park Place. Marconi Drive will close from Florida Boulevard to City Park Avenue, and City Park Avenue will close from Marconi Drive to Anseman Avenue.
