Riding in Muses' giant signature shoe float as "Honorary Muse" in 2017 will be former NBC anchor Tamron Hall. The TV journalist will lead the parade when it rolls Thursday, Feb. 23.
Hall was born in Luling, Texas, and graduated from Temple University, according to a news release. Since then, she cultivated her career as a broadcast journalist and eventually landed at NBC, where she anchored "NBC News Today" and "MSNBC Live with Tamron Hall."
She left NBC, however, after Megyn Kelly appeared to replace her hour in its lineup in a broadcast shakeup that left some fans disappointed and confused. Still, Hall continues to host "Tamron Hall Investigates" and "Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall" on Investigation Discovery, which is due to start its fifth season this year.
"We are honored to have Tamron Hall as our 2017 Honorary Muse. As an advocate for education, housing and women's safety, she embodies the spirit for which the Muses are known, and is an inspiration to all New Orleans girls and future Muses," said Muses captain Staci Rosenburg in a press release. "We know she will dazzle all those on the parade route as she leads the Muses in our Krewe's signature red high-heel shoe."
